Franz Schubert - Winterreise

Paul Renn (bass baritone) and Gary Peacock (piano) present a charity fundraising performance of Schubert's legendary song cycle Winterreise (Winter Journey).

All proceeds from the recital will to go to Barnardo's.

Winterreise was completed in 1828 at the end of Schubert's short life and is one of the most powerful yet enigmatic masterpieces of Western culture.

Lasting approximately seventy minutes, and consisting of 24 songs, it's a composition of unique emotional depth and psychological intensity – an existential work that remains unsurpassed in the history of song.
