Waterloo Walk with Old Maps

This event is in the past. This is an archive page for reference.

Join Ken Titmuss for a walk with old maps exploring the neighbourhood that developed once Waterloo Bridge was built.

Hidden away but close to the station there are whole streets of artisan houses from the 1820s. Ken will help you find fragments of the Necropolis Railway.

On a 16th century map, trace where the now lost River Neckinger joins the Thames.

Along the way you will encounter the Grand Ole Duke of York, William Blake and the Gold Refiner of Cross Street.
