Harvest Sale

Local school children from Southwark and neighbouring boroughs will be setting up shop, trading their school-grown fruit and veg at Borough Market.

These young traders sell their seasonal fruit and vegetables, grown and nurtured from seed.

This Harvest Sale marks the fifth year where Borough Market and School Food Matters have worked together on this special project.

In total 237 children have now sold their fruit and veg at Borough, with a total of 6,500 children having been part of the programme by helping to grow the produce at their school and consequently understanding where their food comes from.

All the proceeds from the pupil's fruit and veg sales will be donated to FareShare, a charity which seeks to relieve food poverty by rescuing good food that would otherwise go to waste.
