A Cook's Life for Me

This event is in the past. This is an archive page for reference.

Take part in living history! This interactive storytelling event will help to bring to life for children and families the role of HMS Belfast's cook and what life would have been like on board for him, his helpers and for the 950-strong crew that he would have had to feed three times a day.

Find out about:
• The life and antics of a sailor
• The role of the ship's cat
• Basic food supplies and 'luxury items'

As the story unfolds, children will be encouraged to make their own finger puppet of the ship's cook, which they can take away with them to remember their experience.

Free drop-in Activity; no pre-booking required.

  • 11am-1pm & 2pm-4pm
