FlyTower at National Theatre

Working directly onto the exterior of the Lyttelton flytower, the artists Ackroyd & Harvey and a team of twenty assistants have planted the north and west face with seedling grass, transforming this landmark on the London skyline into a living installation.

Heather Ackroyd and Dan Harvey have collaborated since 1990; this will be their largest exterior work to date. Their works explore growth and decay, artifice, control and randomness; notable examples include Dilston Grove, The Other Side and Bull. They are acclaimed for their work exploiting the light-sensitivity of seedling grass to record photographic images.
