The Power of Communication

This event is in the past. This is an archive page for reference.

When HMS Belfast was at sea, communication with other ships was limited to morse code, signalling flags and semaphore messages. Families and children can take part in this educational, interactive activity that allows them to have a go at communicating using traditional naval methods. Make a flagpole and hoist your own signal, discover morse code, flag and semaphore messaging and take part in a "Colours" ceremony to hoist the White Ensign flag, used to identify Royal Naval ships all around the world.
