Blue Ribbon Village

The Blue Ribbon Village is the environmental zone of The Mayor's Thames Festival.

It features walk-about performances, a herbal healing area, a village pond, a massive story-telling whale, river-related organisations, children's activities, a music stage and much, much more.

In the heart of this zone you will find the 'Village Pond', a fabulous interactive water space where you can learn about conservation, get advice from a Pond Doctor and take part in art workshops. There are deck chairs around the pond for those of you who would just like to come and relax and soak up the festival atmosphere.

Near the pond there will be a 50-foot long Story-telling Whale, closely guarded by a noisy fishwife, who will lead brave landlubbers into its belly. Once inside you will encounter a shipwrecked pirate and a treasure-hording mermaid who will tell their fishy tales.

The park will be a fantastic area for families and other Festival-goers to relax, learn, eat, drink, listen to music, and most of all, have fun.
