Illuminated Night Carnival

This event is in the past. This is an archive page for reference.

This year the Illuminated Night Carnival will be the biggest yet, celebrating ten years of Thames Festival magic. It is an incredible display of carnival creativity that weaves its way along the River Thames starting at Victoria Embankment, crossing over Blackfriars Bridge, and finally drawing to a finish behind the Royal Festival Hall. This beautifully lit carnival brings together 2,000 musicians, dancers, amazing lanterns and illuminated costumes. International carnival groups from across the world come and perform their work, including this year's Australian centre-piece, the giant articulated Snuff Puppets. Come and watch this magical display that forms part of the Festival's grand finale, before a breathtaking display of fireworks brings it all to a close.
