Speak of Me As I Am

Southwark historian Stephen Bourne will give a presentation about how he put together Speak of Me As I Am, a Black history book about Southwark featuring, among others, Ira Aldridge, Mary Seacole, Dr. Harold Moody, Paul Robeson and Sam King. He will also discuss his recently completed documentary Aunt Esther's Story in which he uses family photographs and archive footage to tell the story of his aunt, a Black Londoner born before the First World War.
