Swedish artist Klara Liden began studying architecture in Stockholm before turning to fine art, which is reflected in her keen interest in the city and the rules and conventions that govern urban living. Among the films on show is Bodies of Society (2006), in which the artist wields a crow bar to slowly and deliberately destroy a bicycle within the bare surroundings of her apartment. Another film Paralysed (2003), shows Liden dancing wildly on a Stockholm commuter train while her fellow passengers try hard to ignore her. In all of her films, Liden exhibits a subtle defiance of accepted attitudes and behaviours, inviting us to question conventional social norms.
