TASTER SESSIONS

Drawing from scratch
A session for beginners who want to explore the basics of drawing. The session will provide an opportunity to learn how to draw from still life from an experienced artist.
One session from 2.00pm - 4.00pm

Learn the basics of screen printing
All around you are examples of screen printing - on wallpaper, fabrics, clothing and many other areas. Learn how to produce designs using screens and stencils.
One session from 5pm-7pm

Exploring display design
Stroll around the shops you will see examples of display design, both in the window and inside. Find out how the professionals go about displaying products.
One session from 5.00pm - 7.00pm

Creative designs with flowers
Floral art is not just about flower arranging. Learn to create exciting designs and sculptures using flowers and plants.
Two sessions from 2.00pm - 4.00pm and 5.00pm - 7.00pm

Digital portrait photography
This practical session will introduce you to the basics of portrait photography in a studio setting using digital cameras. You will be able to go away with a professional portrait of yourself. Cameras will be provided.
One session from 2.00pm - 4.00pm

Introduction to lithographic printing
This session will begin with a tour around the printmaking workshops, providing an opportunity to understand some of the principles involved in production of printed work. It will end with a practical hands-on demonstration of a lithographic printmaking process.
One session from 5.00pm - 7.00pm

TALKS AND SCREENINGS

Introduction to self-employment
Nearly nine out of 10 people working within the creative industries are self-employed.
Find out what self-employment involves. Hear from successful practitioners and a creative business advisor. This talk is run by ECCA (Enterprise Centre for the Creative Arts).
One session from 4.00pm to 5.45pm.

TOURS

Tour of the archive of film director Stanley Kubrick
Two half-hour tours (maximum 10 per tour) starting at 4.00pm and 4.30pm

Tour of the college
Two 40-minute tours of the college starting at 2.30pm and 4.00pm. Meet outside the information services office on the ground floor.
