Ella O'Neill, is engaged in the struggle to overcome the tyranny of a twenty year addiction to morphine, the drug she was given to ease the pain of labour as she brought her son, playwright Eugene O'Neill, into the world. In returning to the Convent of her childhood can she really hope to recover the innocence and faith she has lost - and is faith enough?
