A Sound Mind

Photographer Kris Allan's exhibition of Devon Marston sheds light on living with a mental illness. Sound Minds, a charity based in Battersea, uses music and the arts as a form of therapy for people with mental health conditions. Allan was photographing them five years ago when he met Devon, one of Sound Minds' founding members and a schizophrenic.

"Of all the people there, I particularly warmed to Devon. I made a suggestion to him about doing a form of documentation on his daily life and he agreed," says Allan.

The show consists of 26 images combined with text from both Allan and Devon. The images are printed by ex-Magnum printer, Glen Brent.
