Shifting Perspectives 2009

This event is in the past. This is an archive page for reference.

Five photographers examine alternative representations of adults and children with Down's syndrome.

In the past, people with Down's syndrome were photographed as exhibits - their personality and dignity stripped bare - one was not supposed to see the person, just the difference.

Over the past five years, through contemporary photography the Shifting Perspectives team has transformed the way that Down's syndrome is viewed.
