Epidemic is inspired by Sophocles' Antigone.
Fragments from Euripides' Bacchae and ancient myths are also used in this exploration, where Antigone's choice to bury her brother, disobeying Creon's authority, causes the spreading of madness to the city of Thebes.
We are exploring the relationship between Antigone and Dionysus and the dangerous but liberating spreading of madness that is affecting people as quickly and powerfully as fire.
