Young Vic associate director Joe Hill-Gibbins directs a workshop production of Anton Chekhov's tragic comedy Uncle Vanya for 11 performances only.
Chekhov's masterpiece of frustrated longing and wasted lives was written in 1899. Its first production was directed by Stanislavski.
It has been much revived, the title role having achieved the status of a modern Hamlet.
This workshop production will research and explore the contemporary implications of the story.
