A concert of music for choir, brass and organ by Renaissance and contemporary composers.
The Choir will present two works by the contemporary English composer John Rutter, the Winchester Te Deum (commissioned by Winchester Cathedral in 2006) and Choral Fanfare.
The concert will also have a performance of Always it's Spring, a selection of five poems by the American poet e.e.cummings arranged for choir, brass and organ by contemporary English composer Malcolm Pearce.
The choir will also present two well known works by Giovanni Gabrieli (1557-1612), In Ecclesiis and Beati immaculati, and two works by Gabrieli's student Heinrich Schutz (1585-1672), Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied and Freue dich des Weibes deiner Jugend.
The City Chamber Choir will be joined by Chameleon Brass and by Christopher Cromar, organist.
