A great opportunity for young aspiring actors & performers.
Take part in the Scoop's free summer drama activities
and star on stage at More London's open-air amphitheatre
The Steam Industry returns to the Scoop at More London for its fourth year this summer, presenting seven weeks of free theatre, including a fun and inventive programme of summer drama activities for young people from the local community of Southwark.
Calling all young local aspiring actors, performers and musicians aged 16-21 interested in performing, writing and creating both music and drama, the summer drama project offers two weeks of action-packed activities led by actors from London's acclaimed Steam Industry Theatre Company. Participants will have the chance to star in their own production at the end of the programme, with a public performance in London's most spectacular open-air theatre, the Scoop at More London.
This year, the company will be performing two plays in repertory, presenting Bertolt Brecht's The Caucasian Chalk Circle, translated by James & Tania Stern and W H Auden, and the 'modern world' premiere of Euripides' family comedy adventure, CYCLOPS! in a new version by Phil Willmott.
