Beckett's Stirring Still

Samuel Beckettâs last novella, written after he had decided to write no more, was the result of his American publisher â who had lost his firm â requesting one more text. Semi-autobiographical, it describes a housebound author, who in his mind travels outside his room to another life. An actor from the Godot Company reads this nostalgic, beautiful text, with its echoes of approaching oblivion.
