Victor Man

If Mind Was All There Was

This event is in the past. This is an archive page for reference.

The most significant artist to emerge from Romania in recent years, Victor Man's paintings and arrangements of found objects meditate on memory as a facility concerned not with a faded past, but an elusive, yet keenly felt, present.

In his exhibition If Mind Were All There Was, a piece of 17th century graffiti on a Piero della Francesca fresco operates as a springboard for a murky set of possible narratives about artistic paternity, failure and flight.
