Charlie Chaplin Short Films

Neil Brand has been accompanying silent films for over 25 years.

Now at County Hall he will be playing a live accompaniment to two Charlie Chaplin shorts:

The Immigrant Charlie arrives on a boat in the land of opportunity after undergoing sea-sickness, violence and attempts on his life and then he meets Eric Campbell as the least obliging waiter of all time. One of Chaplin’s greatest comedies, full of social incite as well as timeless comedy.

Easy Street Charlie takes a job as a policeman on the toughest street in town. Wonderful chases, brilliant gags and real love interest on a street that looks exactly like the streets he grew up on in Lambeth.
