Glass artist Alex R explores the Freudian theme of work and love as the cornerstones of humanness.

During her recent residency at the National Hospital of Neurology, these notions were laid bare during when she worked with patients who were rebuilding their lives after suffering stroke and spinal injury.

Pieces inspired by this project will be on display alongside glassworks from the last five years.

Alex is the 2009 recipient of the Alexandra Reinhardt Memorial Award, an artist residency that was awarded by Paintings in Hospitals and The Max Reinhardt Charitable Trust.
