On Ageing is a piece of theatre for adults, performed by children.
It is an exploration of what it means to experience constant change, to be living in an ageing body, to move from childhood through adulthood to old age.
Performed by seven children aged between 7 and 12, On Ageing is not a piece of theatre for children, nor is it a participatory or community project: rather it is a fully formed and fully resourced devised performance for adults, which just happens to place non-adult, non-professional performers at its heart.
Taking place in a stark white space which becomes a canvas for light, projections, movement and choreographed images, the performance will also feature a choir of elders: seven people aged over 70 whose voices and song will weave through and bind together the piece.
