Matilda Moreton graduated in ceramics from Central St Martin's College of Art and Design in 2004. She works in printed ceramics, mainly in the form of tile panels, mapping layers of history.
Since graduation she has completed a number of commissions for hospitals and doctors' surgeries, using digital print onto tiles. The installations are site-specific, using archive photographs, maps and written memories as well as contemporary photographs of the localities by the artist. Maps have also been screen-printed onto tableware.
This exhibition, entitled 'Time Walks', features historical maps of London, printed onto tiles and bone china tableware. 18th century woodcuts of tradesmen bring the old streets of London to life.
All works are for sale through Southwark Cathedral shop.
A percentage of the sales goes to the Cathedral.
