Firing on the Foreshore

Firing on the Foreshore was devised by Bankside STEWards.

Clay, fire and water form the basis for this unique event. Objects made from Thames Clay are fired in three bonfires made from Thames driftwood. These will be burnt for differing lengths of time to register the movement of the tide.

There is also a chance to explore 2000 years of London's ceramic past during archaeologist-led walks, and as it is displayed alongside driftwood furniture made by the Riverwood Project, also to learn some river health and safety issues from London's rats.
