An exciting exhibition that delves into the short but spectacular life of Archaos, the circus troupe that changed the face of circus forever, and the after-effects of their sudden rise to fame on the people who created the game-changing industrial circus.
Archaos  discarded the stale animal-based routines, of the sort that Krone, Kine, Barnum & Bailey, Billy Smarts, Blackpool Tower and more had been  wearing to sawdust for years, and dragged circus kicking and screaming  into the machine age in the late 1980s and early 1990s, lit by oxy-acetylene torches, sound-tracked by chainsaws and explosions, and kitted out in workman's overalls.
