Noor Inayat Khan (1914-1944) was from an Indian Muslim family and became one of the few female SOE (Special Operation Executive) agents working in France during the Second World War. A very dangerous role, she was betrayed and captured by the Gestapo and was executed in Dachau Concentration Camp. For her courage she was awarded the George Cross.
Azma Khan has written a play about this remarkable woman and will lead a creative writing workshop, for families, looking at her life and looking at the language that can be used to describe bravery, imprisonment and freedom.
