Can anyone recommend a dressmaker in or around SE1 for a friend of mine ?

She needs a formal top and skirt making up in the next six weeks or so, for an appearance as a bridesmaid. She doesn't have a pattern, has the material and a good idea of what she wants, but doesn't want to spend a fortune for something she's unlikely to wear again.

She's had a look at Yellow Pages and UpMyStreet, but would really appreciate a personal recommendation.

Hi Harriet,

My neighbour is a fantastic tailor. I don't have her details to hand, but i'll pop by and see her later today and grab them for you... she specialises in weddings/bridesmaids/bespoke tailoring, and I am sure would be able to help..

Do you have an email/phone no. I could pass on to her?

Pearl on the Longfield estate, I'll find out if she's still there, fantastic dressmaker- she made all the wedding / bridesmaid daughters for my friends daughter who married at st.pauls.

Did you find out if your recomendation - Pearl - is still there - I'd be interested? I've seen an article in a mag in which there was a lovely 50's/60's cotton dress - looks quite simple but I can't pattern cut (and have lost the patience to sew too). Any other recommendations gratefully received.

Sophie/Harriett - please could you PM your contacts for me as well - that is if you think they'd be interested in doing a cotton dress.

Thanks everyone

Hi Sophie

I'm looking for a dressmaker and was wondering if you could let me have the details of that contact of yours. It's been a while since you posted, but hopefully you have her details as she sounds fantastic! Thanks.
