I've been away, although pleased to discover this SE1 article upon my return:

Could this be the same TRA that objected to trees being planted around the Lant estate because "if we wanted trees, we'd live in the country" and "we live on a council estate, not a country estate"? Is this the same Joe Beckles who is claiming over 700 of "expenses" from the council funded TRA? - see here:
Oh, and if Ms Mason cannot think of another barrier except in Berlin, may I suggest the one in Israel??

IIRC the initial proposals contained provision for public access out of school hours and I think this is a good idea.

Forgot to mention that aforementioned Beverley Mason is being interviewed by BBC London TV as I write. It wasn't so very long ago that she and Mr Beckles were at each others throats. It's cheering to see people patching up their differences.

this doesn't help the debate on cutting the street in half i know but my colleague just enquired if that was a picture of extras from a new series of life on mars...

Another thought: There are only ten people in that photograph. Even if there were double that, the level of support from the TRA (some 184 households) can't be more than 11%. Hardly representative of local opinion.

Hi Guys.

A year since anyone last posted on this subject.

Like the new fencing at 'Dickens school' no prob for me.

However does anyone feel that the new rat run is
Mint st - Weller st - Lant st.

If the powers that be are reading this is there any chance of some speed bumps. Its mainly white vans, but at rush hour its positively dangerous.

Be interested if anyone feels the same.

If the idiots in the council hadn't stopped everyone using the far wider and safer Trinity Street- Great Suffolk street route we locals wouldn't have to use this less safe route at all.

Yes massive ammount of traffic at the Southwark Bridge rd end of Lant st.
Some sleeping policemen would at least slow it down.
