Taken on ots own terms its an OK TV series , I seem to remember the original was a bit more ruff and ready. Though.

And last night, when the groom got into the cab, I am sure he said "Clapham" and the next scene was him talking to someone in Shad Thames........

Film and TV shot in San Francisco is notorious for this. The classic example is the car chase scene in Bullitt.

Mind you I've just noticed you first comment was about hustle,
I hate the way that's shot, minder is better

I haven't seen Minder, but I really like the style of Hustle.

The same sort of thing--they are driving in one section of the city, then make a turn and suddenly they are in a different section.

I was looking for a list of locations to post here, and happened upon this rather cool page:
http://www.seero.com/video/Steve_McQueen_3

It shows the film clip of the car chase on the left, and on the right it shows where they are on a Google map of San Francisco. You can see where they're driving and when they suddenly jump locations.

Thanks for that, Laphroaig. An interesting site.

I think 'Minder' is improving, but it will never match the original, primarily because George Cole was so good. Waterman was just....Waterman. Deborah Kerr's grandson is, in my opinion, the stonger of the two characters this time around and the better actor.

Last night they went into The Circle flats but by the time they had gone upstairs, they were over in SW London :p

Thanks, James - but I don't think I would watch them again, lol. I did stick with it to the end and wondered where the chase sequence in Rotherhithe was going to pop up. We saw it so many times in the trails, but it never did.

I have a feeling it won't be returning. RIP, lol.

The original series of Minder is being shown on ITV4 - I saw an episode last night, round about 9pm.
