The TMC have placed recycling bins all over the estate. There are some in the carparks in Tennis St and Bowling Green Place. I've never seen anyone using them.

Battery recycling is lagging behind in the UK- big shock - but a scheme has been piloted in Bristol over the past year.

The project is due to be rolled out - lovely corporate phrase - incorporating learnings - ditto - from the Bristol effort.

Ever hopeful, I'm keeping mine in a robust plastic bag, awaiting Southwark's no-doubt imminent leap to the frontline of eco responsibility.

Grayling Bristol is the PR agency handling the pilot, and might well have up-to-date info on projected introduction nationwide.

Or we could post them to the recyclers out west of course...

These new bags for paper are all very well, but they'll get horribly soggy and filthy remarkably quickly.

Hi Simon,

If you are referring to the bottle bank on Blackfriars Road, near the Sons of Temperance Society building, they have been removed for some unknown reason. However, just around the corner in Nelson Square there are new blue recycling bins, which also include paper. Not sure if they are emptied frequently, though.
