Still rather confused what happened to the initial discussion that was meant to be moved from the cinema to the delegates room upstairs.
Once we arrived upstairs there was some planning officer from southwark council trying to do some ad-hoc consultation of the new borough wide planning document and a completely different moderator (failing to to inform people who he was or what that was all about) completely changing the mood and discussion, film cameras, way too loud microphones, laptops to add comments that would appear on the video projection baemed at the wall.... generally a very unsettling mood and no wonder the mood turned rather aggressive.
I didn't stay long with that 'circus' and a number of other people left bit by bit....
On my way out I saw the initial moderator from downstairs who was really annoyed that a perfectly valid and good discussion had suddenly been completely hijacked and turned around.....
Anyone an idea what this was all about? Is it just Southwark Council trying to be too fancy and completely missing the point?
Doesn't consultation work have to be properly publicised - no one was aware this was gonna happen!
