I understand that street traders are to be removed from the south bank in lambeth, and possibly southwark. While I don't like vans giving out lots of fumes, I think that some street trading is a vital asset to a stroll on the south bank. There's one icecream trader who sells cornets from a bycile trailer not from a van with fumes, usually near blackfriars bridge. Some London parks have bycicle icecream sellers too. Why don't we encourage 'clean' vendors to trade on south bank, I always need an icecream on my walk in the summer, and I don't mind hot dobgs either. It brings some more life and variety to the place. What we all don't want is noisy polluting vans. Give me something to cheer me up, however, and I'll come more often. Lets make a positive virtue out of the history of the south bank on alternative, informal trade and encourage the environment to boot.
I think the building looks amazing. Though I dont know how it will look in Borough? Does anyone know where exactly it is supposed to be built? (Sorry if this is obvious to everyone else, but I cant seem to find that out, though I haven't spent a lot of time looking, more curious really)
