Thank you for all your comments, which I have taken on board. Please be assured that all the comments made in my name have come directly from me.

Once I realised what had happened I called James up directly and apologised on behalf of our PR. It is quite rightly very important that the integrity of the site is maintained and SE1 does a great job of keeping the community in touch, demonstrated by your comments today.

Vinopolis is 10 years old this year and as I said yesterday we were one of the first businesses to invest in the Bankside area, which helped to kick start the regeneration. Come and join in the celebrations with us.

I would have loved to here the conversations between Rupert and Clementine Communications today.
What's especially poor is that we were discussing a potentially serious danger to wildlife, not Vinopolis bashing. I really like the place and I've been several times. I also think that even if the claims of 'biodegradable' are dubious it's the balloon companies fault, not Rupert's. I'm quite impressed with susie1970's powers of anti-PR.

I have been buying my wine at Vinopolis since it opened and despite "competition" from Sainsbury's and more recently, M&S I will continue to do so. For their 15th anniversay though they might consider a different kind of celebration ;-)

What a shambles, Oz Clarke, (!) helium balloons (!) and a PR company's lies that are as transparent as Asda's own brand toilet paper!
Maybe there are too many licensed premises already.
Will susie1970 get sacked, or prosecuted? will Winopispoor sack their PR company?

Let's not get carried away here. Nobody actually died.

Getting back to my original post of the balloons, I still feel concerned that ten days to biodegrade may be too late for the wildlife.

Perhaps scrapping balloons and having a bubble machine would be better!

It seems Rupert has integrity in p.r.gate...:-)

Excellent! Restored my complete lack of faith in the PR profession(?) I always wondered what those willowy blonde Sloanes got up to all day.

Great laugh reading the blurb on their webpage.

'And in a world of spin and smoke and mirrors, Clementine's abilities are always in demand.'

Well done to Clementine Communications Ltd, for organising a "drink-up in a wine bar"
