I was saddened to hear of Peter's death (SE1 news section) - he was quite a character - I often used to see him walking around Bermondsey, and met him a couple of times at local history lectures at Time and Talents. His books were fascinating.
I looked up his books on Amazon just now, motivated by the decent image of 'The Navigator' on the cover of 'Bermondsey and Rotherhithe Perceived'. I wish I'd met him. His death follows that of another interesting character, David Squires, reported on the news page. I'd like to know more about them both.
I was very sorry to read the sad news that Peter had died. I never met Peter but corresponded with him and talked to him on the phone. He was helpful to all those interested in local history in london.
