I've read the discussions about good dentists in SE1 but is there such a thing as a good NHS dentist?. I am with one at the moment and my gut feeling tells me he doesn't care about his patients.
I needed emergency treatment this morning...was told to turn up at 8.15 because he was only seeing 2 emergency patients a day with a deadline at 10.30am 9.35 I was still waiting with no sign of being seen. Was told he would see me if he had a gap between his patients but that it could take all day. Is that normal behaviour!

There is a reasonably good dentist at 25 Tower Bridge Road - virtually opposite the Hartley. Their number is (020) 7407 7427. Dentists there are very good although the receptionist (sorry if you're reading this but it's true) is a bit of a dragon - last time I went they had some kind of new policy whereby you pay a 10 deposit against failing to turn up for your appointment. That's the only downside!

I only visit the dentist when in pain and so all my attendances come under the category of 'emergency'. They have always managed to fit me in same day and you never wait long.

BTW - I don't work in this surgery and nor am I associated with it!
