Broken Microwave Oven

I have Microwave oven where the inner coating has flaked off and is damaged just under the glass rotating dish, does anyone know if this can be repaired or if not then where and how do I dispose of the oven? it is not being used atm as I am not sure it is safe?

the price of these things these days, you'd be better of just buying a new one. As for disposing of it, not sure if it is considered hazardous waste - you could check with Southwark Council on (020) 7525 5000 and ask to be put through to the call centre dealing with refuse collections. There is a direct dial but I don't know the number - the number above will work though.

You can get microwaves from tesco for about 30 pounds, so as gavin said you would be better off just buying a new one.

I am all for making do, mending and trying to stop stuff going to landfill, but sometimes its best to let things go, especially as it could catch fire or explode.
