Just wondered if anyone has experienced the same problems as I have faced recently? I went to one of my local pubs on Friday night to watch the England match, to be informed that I wasn't allowed to sit anywhere in the pub as it had been reserved for various workers in the area. As a resident of the area for 25 years I find that this situation is happening more and more, with us locals being pushed out of our own pubs. What do ther's think?!
not allowed to sit anywhere?
thats a bit weird.
most pubs i know, including mine, take bookings for areas or tables.
most would also make sure that enough room is left for walk-ins.
to this point , we keep the front 1/2 of the pub for walk-ins.
In these hard times, im sure (i hope) most publicans weigh up thier options on who to primarily cater for, but then again am only guessing.
BTW, we had no seating during the England game
( booked or otherwise)
Slightly out of SE1 but it's where I'm likely to be on Wednesday afternoon - does anyone know if the Kennington/Oval version of The Roebuck is showing the football - was a good place to watch it four years ago as a compromise distance between my flat and my office so will probably head back if so.
