The council has just published the report on the last round of consultation:

Seems like there's another exhibition due at the end of the month.

There's also an update on the leisure centre at Saturday's Walworth Community Council:

Apparently there is a further presentation on leisure centre about to take place:

Elephant and Castle
Leisure Centre redevelopment
Invitation to design update exhibition

Saturday 24 March 10am to 5pm
Monday 26 March 12 noon to 8pm
Tuesday 27 March 12 noon to 8pm

Being held at:
Elephant and Castle Leisure Centre
22 Elephant and Castle
London, SE1 6SQ

I only got to know about this today when I received an email. When complaining about short notice I was told a flyer went out last Saturday - am I the only resident living close by that didn't receive this flyer or are there more people like me?

Blimey, ANOTHER huge tower. How is this going to square with the LCP and 360 London or whatever the old Park Hotel site is going to be called. We are going to have an absolute forest of towers it seems to me.

"In January we asked, “what do you believe are the most important considerations for the design of tall buildings?”

"Some of the additional comments relating to architectural style included - blend in with general surroundings — Tabernacle and St. Mary’s Churchyard"

All a bit absurd really.

This gives a whole new meaning to "blend" doesnt it?

what's interesting is that you basically can't see the Tab in this photo, it's lost between the LCC tower and the new building.

What I like about the computer generated pic of the planned tower is the cheeky bit of narrative they added in. In the foreground is a man and camera on tripod taking a pic of the new tower presumably because it's so iconic or something!

I thought he was on crutches...

I like the weird pavement distortion to make it seem faaaaaaar away.

people taking photographs and people on crutches on private property should both be banned anyhow :)
