@ Davies: There are quite a few Banksy'esque murals that popped up a week ago all along Bermondsey Street.
"Rude Children" with kids showing the finger, facing out, or facing eachother.

How does one know whether they're Banksy or not?

He posts pictures on his site: http://banksy.co.uk/out.asp

I had a quick look but didn't see anything that looked Bermondsey St esque but I haven't been up there for a week or two and will have a look next time.

I think he's great. Loads better than Damian Hurst and Tracy Emin anyway!
Not that that is hard!

Sadly I don't think they are Banksy's. The quality doesn't seem up to that of Banksy. They don't have any real site specific features which make much of Banksy much more interesting and amusing. A bit of research reveals that they are by someone called The Dotmaster - link to their site here http://dotmaster.co.uk/
The Rude Kids on this site is much the same as what has been added on the street.

It would be a nice addition to a new building. Let's keep the Banksy (or the dotmaster...) so we don't get a sterile street. A building of seven stories is going to dwarf everything in the area, it's definitely too high and imposing!

Banksy's artwork has to be preserved by the Glas Architects and integrated in the new building. Maybe people doesn't like this work in the specific but it is a well known fact that Banksy has done a lot of good for young people (e.g Bristol), every work is a strong statement and this one is the only work made in our area it should be look after.

What are you talking about? There is a building just across the road that is taller. And the Circle apartments next door are a large five or six story building too.

We are Grange Road residents and love the Banksy, which really brightens up that end of the road. The artist clearly intended it to be in our corner of Bermondsey and so keeping it here would be the best outcome. Seeing it moved elsewhere or sold commercially would be a crying shame. Well done and thank you to the owner, Joe Ozlala, for making the effort to hang onto our street art and getting the developers to incorporate it into their new design.

Well if this bomb removal doesn't go well this morning the decision could be taken out of everyone's hands!
