Completely agreed with RShaw - political independence (a Utopian concept if ever there was one) is really needed for the Mayor to be able to tackle issues relating to London and not those at the top of Cabinet's hit-list...

Shame it's just an ideal...

I saw Julian Leppart on telly last night. "We're going to build a red, white and blue barrier around London" It must have taken them years to think that one up.
