There is an old thread from 2004 about carpet-fitters, but does anyone have more up-to-date experience with local carpet-selling and -fitting businesses?

Or, if you had your carpets done several years ago, how have they lasted?

I've left phone messages for A.E. Scott carpets over the course of the last week, but they have not returned my call. I went to CarpetRight on Old Kent Rd, but was not impressed by the salesman (for example, he was willing to tell me a total price, but reluctant to give me a break-down).

Thanks in advance for tips.

The Carpetright fitters are quite good, in my experience. They charge 2.50 per square metre. Best to try and get a phone numebr for the fitters (they will give you a telephone number if you ask).

I rang AE Scott 2 weeks ago but they never got back to me.

Just rung up Carpetright and they refused to give out numbers.

Really quite desperate now!
