A black cat has gone missing - he's name's Joshi and he lives on Leroy Street, SE1. He's a bit accident prone and I'm worried he's hurt and hiding somewhere nearby. Could you check your gardens/grounds and let me know if you might see him? He's friendly but shy - he has a slight speckling of a few white hairs on his chest and he's neutered. Thank you very much
Hi I've read that lost or missing cats tend to be no more then 10 houses away from their home, usually 3-5 and if he's ended up a bit further down he's probably hiding due to the odd new noises(and that he doesn't really know what's a threat&whats not). They are often too scared to come when called..but If you have a baby monitor try putting it in your garden & some food& see if you hear him at night. if not just put some food out at night&check it periodically. Hope this helps&keep us updated ...
No return of Joshi the cat, but sightings on Great Dover St/Tabard St in front of the Black Horse pub, and also on Rothesay St around the back of the Jam Factory. Thanks to the people who have contacted us via the number on our posters.
Joshi is 3 years old, a neutered male, refuses to wear a collar, and is shorthaired. He is microchipped, so if found and handed into a vet's or Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, will find his way back to us.
In the meantime, with the good weather, please check your sheds, binstores, back gardens in case he is trapped and injured? He is very shy and doesn't like being picked up, but is very vocal and makes his presence known!
Thanks to all on In SE1, Junie3 for posting and alerting the neighbourhood, and good advice from Valmote which we are following.
We are still looking for our beloved pet, Joshi, and would like to thank everyone in SE1 who has contacted us via our posters. We have had an amazing response, with people coming over to see what the poster is about and chat, and to take our number when they hear its a missing pet.
Joshi is microchipped, so if found and handed in to any vet, animal shelter, animal warden or Battersea Cats Home, we will be contacted instantly. The microchipping service have sent out an alert that he is a missing cat.
So many people have been so kind - staking out cats, sending photos, texts, getting policemen to chase black cats hiding under parked cars etc etc. We have seen all of them, apart from a sighting on Darwin St, and although our heart leaps when we get a call, its not been our Joshi so far.
Joshi went missing from Leroy St, which is at the junction of the Bricklayers Arms, between Old Kent Rd, and Tower Bridge Road on Sunday 25th September. He is 3 years old, with short, black, fur, neutered and is slim and shy. We have comprehensively checked the local area, binstores, garages, asked at business premises etc, so he may be further away and disorientated or be trapped somewhere.
Thanks to all who have been in touch with us already. We would be grateful if you could check any sheds or garages you don't use that often. We are sure he will be home soon.
