Imagine the scene: Bermondsey St, late on a Saturday night, in the distance the putt-putt of a Pizza delivery guy on his Yamaha 90, zig-zagging up Bermondsey St looking for his delivery address. Then suddenly, out of the shadows spring two 'urban youths' who knock the pizza-guy off his scooter and steal the delivery. When Pizza-guy tries to get the pizzas back the two urban youths square up to him and get ready to put him down. Then they see some bystanders and decide to melt away into Tanner St Park.

Pizza-guy gets himself back together and starts to push his scooter back to base where, I am sure, his boss will deduct his loss from his less than minimum wage. He doesn't want anyone help and he doesn't want to call the police, maybe because he shouldn't be working here or maybe because he can't speak the language.

So the next time that Pizza-guy delivers to your door and you're tempted to slag him/her off for being late or some such reason, just think about it. Is your life like theirs?

Regards from the real world.
