Getting a dog - can anyone recommend some good local walks? and any pubs that are dog friendly en route?

Depends where you live. The riverside when the tide's out is good, as long as your dog isn't a fanatical swimmer- dangerous currents!.

Stave Hill & the eco park with the Mayflower for lunch/drinks !

Scroll down to the bottom of this page and there seems to be an Amazon advert for books on just this subject.

Seen dogs a few times in The Angel over the border in SE16. A top pub and a nice river walk to get to it.

Live great suffolk street way - the Angel seems a good shout.

Hoping to find a nice long sunday walk route ending in a sunday pub for pints and grub

It's a general problem in London... Dog owners are really discriminated... Godto know there are at least a few places

The Lord Clyde for when you don't feel like straying far.

The King's Arms on Tooley Street is exceptionally dog friendly (as long as your dog is well behaved and kept under control). There is also outside seating for when the weather is better.

I've seen dogs in a good number of SE1 pubs (including The Anchor Tap on Horsleydown Lane and I'm pretty sure that The Mayflower in Rotherhithe doesn't mind doggy visitors).

Good luck! I much prefer pubs with dogs in them!

I will also give a thumbs up to the Lord Clyde. As long as the dog is well socialised and friendly - it is a great pub to go visit.
