Any tips for good Latin food in SE1 -- cheaper and more authentic the better. Anything good on northern part of OKR? Thanks!

There's El Vergel, corner of Southwark Bridge Road and Great Suffolk Street. Run by Chileans and offering intensely flavourful ceviches and the like. Only open for lunch though during the week, and they've sadly abandoned their Saturday nights in favour of Sunday afternoons.

Also a Peruvian I think on one of those short roads that decants into BHS from London Bridge station, but I've not been.

El Vergel, beyond amazing (in my opinion)

Just wish they had Modelo Especial!

Take a short stroll down to Elephant & Castle. Lots of Latino resturants in and around the shopping centre

Couple of cheap and colourful looking latino cafes by East Street on the Old Kent Road. Not been yet but would love to know what they're like. There's a big South American community in this area; the food should be good!
