Does anyone know what's happening to the old Penny Farthing Antiques building at 177 Bermondsey St (Green building on corner of Newham's Row)? There is a lot of early morning work going on there. Two skips full of rubble have been taken away in the last week.
I live close by and haven't had any planning permission notices but the wall on Newham's Row has now started crumbling away due to bolts being punched through it. There were also workmen there this morning removing bricks that have been dislodged. I know someone applied for planning permission back in 2008 but this didn't go ahead.
Has anyone else had any planning permission information that i've missed?

One of the guys in our office heard from a builder that it was going to be a cafe. Looking at the ongoing works it looks to be quite a nice cafe although it seems fairly large (but might be due to lack of furniture yet). Also saw a Chinese comic style logo so it maybe like Caphe house down the road ... which would be a plus!
