I gave up drinking for 6 months and got bored with people's intrusive questions and lack of offers in bars of non alcoholic drinks. I would support a place like this. Especially if you did a good pub quiz!,

A pub without alcohol is like a brothel without whores!

I think the answer ( scuse me forwardness) is venues or bars that offer and market non alch drinks as an equal with alch drinks- so in esp. in the late night drinking zone you have a choice x

reminds me of the old joke about two blokes who open a pub and after a year of terrible business they realise it's not going too well. One says to the other "how about opening a brothel?" the other says "don't be daaft - if we can't get them to drink beer, how the hell are we going to get them to eat soup?"

Yep. A sort of ghetto for non-drinkers. Urgh!

A good pub will serve interesting non-alcoholic drinks, and won't be full of drunks. It will have people who are drinking alcohol, and people who are drinking other things.

If I gave up booze, I'd rather lobby my local to stock decent alco-free drinks (assuming it didn't do that already), than go to a place where the customers' common factor is that they are all drink-free.

...if you press it, they will come.

Seems pubs just don't get it.
'If you abstain: Get out' is the message I get.
Shame 'coz the profit margin on soft drinks exceeds that on alcohol.
Maybe that's why they are all closing down!

Last night on BBC Question Time a member of the audience said 40% of crime had an alcohol element.

So the majority of crime is unrelated to alcohol, according to this anonymous 'member of the audience'?
