Hi,can anyone Remember the Birds Nest at Waterloo 1960/70s, it,s a bit vague i was drunk as usual, i seem to remember the tables having phones, i think if you fancied someone on the other table you could phone them up? does anyone know where it was ?

It was across from the Shell Centre on York Road. And yes it had telephones on the tables from which you could ring the other tables. The tables were arranged around an open atrium with a small dance floor on the ground floor. We must have gone to the same places in our youth.

Hi Pjwalton cor your got a good memory i am afraid my brain got a bit pickled my drinking was a bit like Ray Milland in The Lost Weekend, like you say we probably drunk in the same pubs , i know we used go all over the place Drinking, in the East End and South East London ,Kings Road Chelsea, Portobello road,a lot of them pubs shut down when i packed up drinking LOL.
i think i will go on google maps and have a look at York Road and see what,s there now.
