Jules at least they do home visits, when my husband was ill and I phoned the reception to ask doctor to call that day, she told me to wait 48 hours for him , I said no way, she said ring for ambulance! I kicked up a stink, he turned up the following day, with a district nurse as an escort, did not examine my husband, told him from a distance of five feet to close his eyes and touch his nose with his thumb! I waited till the cretin had left, then called ambulance..the surgery was in old Kent rd. no wonder a and e get stretched to limits.

That story is both sad and shocking!

I was originally with the Grange Rd Practise but I found them to be not very good, the receptionists were rude and so was the doctors and lack of privacy as the doctors door went out onto the waiting room so other patients waiting could hear conversations behind the door. So I am now with another one of which the doctors are good but the problem is as a person suggests a wait for a gp of 2wks or more, because of the new properties being build around my gp place they are all joining, but they do have a day emergency service, but its a modern, my doctors told me they have over 10 thousand patients now.

Grange Rd doctors when I was with them mentioned about weight, I am a little over weight but not that much, he gave me these diet pills that drop your body of vitamins and you cant leave your house after taking them, when I joined my new doctors and told them, they said they didnt agree with diet pills but more a healthy choice life plan. The new doctors said that the diet pills can be dangerous as well. Now think this was given by a previous doctor to, not where I went and bought from a store.

I find it is no use changing surgerys as it is the same every where. All my family and friends complain about th e same thing ,mainly a 2 week wait roughly in all surgerys.I live outside London now and that is the same remember the days when we went to the Dr and waited our turn.I have seen this talked about on tv also in the newspapers
